Backgrounds

Heres an image showing most of the elements I will be using for the backgrounds.

This is not a full background, but shows most of the elements that will be used to create my backgrounds. For the long shot I will look at adding more detail such as benches / bins / lights when all of the important elements have been brought together.

Early test render

Here is an early test render with all basic sequences in place. Cleanup is mainly incomplete but has been started on most scenes.
I am still confident that the project is moving along at an appropriate speed.

The low quality export is just to allow high upload speeds.

First Draft walking shot

Here is a first render before any cleanup of the initial walking shot.
I am happy with the weight in the arms and the natural stride kept through rotoscoping. The background is merely for the test render.

Colour Palette

Here is the colour palette I have been using for the two characters.

I have tried not to integrate too many colours or bright overpowering tones.

headshapes are ready

at last i have created some headshapes I am fairly happy with.

These will be the base for the heads / faces on the victim character. As the mouth and eyes may need animating I will be adding them in seperate layers.

Project update

Managing to complete a fair amount today I'm pleased with the progress I've been making. I have been trying to clean up certain elements as I continue to rotoscope the scenes, this will continue after all intial rotoscoping is completed.

The headshapes, typeface options and animatic should be ready for publishing tomorrow along with some background design work. Once the headshapes are complete I will be able to work on the fall scene which will be one of the biggest animation challenges of the project.
The shaking scene also seems to working quite well now I have both characters nearly fully animated.

Shake; first rotoscope

first test runs for the rotoscoping for the shaking scene.
The difficulty has been found matching layers and being able to edit fluently between them afterwards.
I plan to use markers when completing animation where markers will halp keep certain leyers in place.

Filming is complete.

The filming for the video was shot yesterday so editing ready for rotoscoping should be fun.
The script has now been updated and the storyboard's second draft is almost complete.
